March 24 Update

Publish date: 24 March 2020

At SPARK, we remain committed to supporting our member-owners during this period of uncertainty. We are all in this together, and we are here to assist you however we can.

Helping ease the financial impact of COVID-19

We know that many Albertans are facing financial challenges, so SPARK launched its Banking Support and Member Relief program to provide immediate assistance to those who need it most.

Wondering if our Banking Support and Member Relief Program is right for you? We've put together a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help you decide.

Relief Request Form is now available so that you can request support online, quickly and easily.

We've received an unprecedented number of inquiries from our members. Our Financial Advisors and Member Service Reps are actively engaged in supporting those of us that have been affected by COVID-19. We thank you for your continued patience in light of slower than usual response times.

Doing our part to help flatten the curve

Below are some of the steps that SPARK has taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our members, employees, and the communities that we serve:

- We closed our branches to member traffic effective March 19, and majority of our employees are now working remotely
- Banking services are available online 24 hours a day, and by phone during our regular hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 3 pm

Please make sure that you are set up to use the SPARKCU Mobile App for your day-to-day banking transactions such as:

- Sending and receiving funds using Interac E-Transfer
- Depositing cheques using Deposit Anywhere
- Bill payments, account inquiries, statement searches, and more

As a reminder, ATM functionality may be limited during this time, so please utilize the SPARKCU Mobile Banking app to minimize disruption and ensure timely access.

Supporting your well-being, beyond banking

As Canadians, we are fortunate to have access to programs to support individuals and families facing financial vulnerabilities. With the help of the Alberta Credit Union system, we've compiled a list of financial relief programs available to those of us facing financial disruptions:

- COVID-19 Provincial and Federal Relief

During this time, fraudsters continue to look for opportunities to take advantage of unsuspecting individuals. We've included some information on scams that exploit public fears with targeted attacks:

- COVID-19 Scams
- COVID-19 Investment Scams

Check with us regularly for updates as this situation evolves.

Stay well, remain vigilant, and let's continue looking out for one another
