Banking During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Please be advised that as of July 2020, SPARK's offices in Calgary and Fort Saskatchewan have re-opened to allow members to bank in person.

The safety and health of our members and employees remain paramount to us, so Alberta Health Services protocols and municipal by-laws will be strictly enforced in our offices.

Here's what you need to know:

  • When in the branch, we encourage you to wear a face mask to protect fellow members and SPARK employees.
  • Our branch layout has been reconfigured to encourage physical distancing. Markers and signage will be present to remind everyone to practice health and safety measures to help contain the spread.
  • We kindly ask that only required individuals (for document signing or authorizations) attend the branch with you.
  • Upon your arrival and before you leave the branch, please sanitize your hands thoroughly. Hand sanitizing stations will be available within the branch and throughout the building for your convenience.
  • Walk-ins will be accepted, however appointments are encouraged to help us manage the occupancy effectively.

We will continue to be available by phone and online to serve your needs during our regular hours of operation (8:00 am to 3:00 pm). While you may experience slower than usual response times due to a high volume of member inquiries, rest assured we remain committed to supporting you during this period of uncertainty.

Check your online and mobile banking access

We'd like to remind you that you can do most of your banking online with your computer, smartphone or mobile device of choice.

Services such as free, unlimited e-transfers*, bill payments, and remote cheque deposits are available at any time of day, and without visiting a branch. Download the SPARKCU Mobile Banking App on the App Store or Google Play. To ensure continued access to online banking, we ask that you sign in to your SPARK account online or via the app at least once a month. If you don't have access to online banking, get set up today.

Use SPARK's ATM network

SPARK is part of Canada's largest network of ding-free ATMs, which means you can withdraw and deposit cash, and make account inquiries using your SPARK MemberCard without any surcharges. Find out where you can conduct ding-free transactions by looking for credit union ATMs with the Acculink symbol, or by downloading the ding-free locator app here.

ATM functionality may be limited during this time. To ensure timely access to deposits, it is advised that you use the remote deposit functionality on your mobile device.
