Tax Free Savings Account

If your goal is to save or invest without ever paying tax on the investment income that you earn, then a Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA) is the investment vehicle for you.

TFSAs are very versatile in that they can be used for short and long-term savings. Because of the tax-free nature of TFSAs, however, they are best used for long-term investing. Watch your money grow through the power of compounding, and let your earnings generate even more earnings - completely tax-free

Did You Know?

  • All Canadian residents over 18 gain new TFSA contribution room each calendar year - this contribution room is not based on income, which makes TFSAs a great option for students, self-employed individuals, or those with low or no income
  • You can carry-over unused TFSA contribution limits
  • You can re-contribute the amount you withdraw from a TFSA in the calendar year following your withdrawal
Despite its name, TFSAs can be used for more than just savings! Talk to our Financial Advisors to find out how you can make the power of TFSAs work to your advantage.

Registered Education Savings Plan

Save for a child's future by saving for their education with a Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP).

An RESP is a savings and investment vehicle that allows you to save for a child's education tax-free. You can hold high-yield savings, short and long term deposits, stocks*, bonds*, mutual funds** and more inside your RESP.

Did You Know?
  • You can receive up to $7200 in government grants when you maximize your RESP contributions
  • Depending on your income level, you may be eligible for additional grants
  • Anyone can open an RESP for a child - parents, guardians, grandparents, other relatives or friends

Individual and Family Plans are available. Talk to one of our Financial Advisors to learn more about RESP rules and investing options.

Registered Retirement Income Fund

You've been saving diligently throughout your working years. Now, it's time to reap the benefits!

Think of a Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF) as an extension to your Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP). An RRIF is a great way to earn an income from your investments after you retire, instead of putting money into it, you withdraw from it to use throughout retirement.

When you contribute funds into your RRSP before you retire, your money grows tax-sheltered. Once you retire you convert your RRSP into an RRIF, where you will then withdraw money from it as an income, while your investment continues to grow tax-sheltered.

Our investment professionals can help you make the right decisions so that you can enjoy your retirement. Learn more about an RRIF at your local branch.
