Request money
If you're owed money by someone else, you can use Interac e-Transfer to ask for the funds.

  • Complete the Request Money form, adding the person you want to request money from to your recipient list, if required.
  • Sit back and wait. You'll receive an email notifciation when the recipient fulfills your request. The funds they send will be automatically deposited into your account.

Autodeposit
Receive funds directly into an assigned account without needing to answer the usual security question. You can register for Autodeposits through our online banking following these easy steps:

  • Under "Transfers", select "Send Interac e-Transfers".
  • Select "Autodeposit" from the options.
  • Choose an email address to link to Autdeposits.
  • Select the account that you would like your Autodeposits to go to.
  • Click "Register" and wait for an email to confirm your registration. Make sure to click "Complete Registration" to complete the process.

Why use Interac e-Transfers?
Interac e-Transfers are a simple, convenient, and secure way to send and receive money directly from one bank account to another. All you need is access to online banking, and you can send money to anyone with an email address and a bank account in Canada without sharing any personal or financial information. It's a great alternative to cheques, cash, money orders, and wires.

With Interac e-Transfers, you can:
  • Send money from your SPARK chequing account
  • Notify your recipient by email, text message, or both
  • View, resend, or cancel a transfer anytime (until your recipient deposits it).
With our latest enhancements, you may now also:
  • Register for Autodeposit so transfers sent to you can be automatically deposited into your account.
  • Use Request Money to ask someone for the money they owe.
The best part? With a SPARK chequing account, Interac e-Transfers are completely free!

First things first!
Interac e-Transfer is part of our online and mobile banking service. If you're not already registered for online banking, call us at 403.718.7770 or email us at spark@sparkcu.ca.

The first time you use Interac e-Transfer, you will need to create a sender profile, which includes your:
  • Name
  • Email address
  • Mobile phone number
You will also need to add your recipient(s). You will need:
  • Their name, email address, and/or mobile phone number
  • A security question and one-word answer. Your recipient may need to answer this question in order to receive the transfer.

Sending money Expand/Collapse

To send money:
  • Choose a recipient.
  • Enter the required information. If you enter a message for the recepient, don't give away the answer to the security question.
  • Click "Send". The amount of your transfer will be withdrawn from your account immediately.

If you receive a request for money from someone else:

  • Follow the prompts in the notification email you received.
  • Choose your bank or credit union and follow their instructions for signing in.
  • Accept or decline the request.

Receiving money Expand/Collapse

To receive money:

  • Click the link in the email or text message notification you received.
  • Select "Alberta" from the list of provinces and SPARK The Energy Credit Union from the list of financial institutions.
  • Click "Deposit".
  • Sign in using your online/mobile banking user ID and password. Create your transfer profile, if required.
  • Answer the sender's security question.
  • Follow the prompts to accept the transfer.
